Cupping Therapy
and Gua Sha
Traditional-style methods for Healing
Cupping is an ancient practice that uses gentle suction to release tension, encourage circulation, and ease discomfort. By drawing fresh blood flow to tight or stagnant areas, cupping helps the body’s natural healing processes while promoting relaxation. Many patients describe it as a deeply relieving therapy that restores mobility and reduces stress.
Gua sha refers to the gentle scraping of the skin until a rough redness is produced in the skin. Similar to cupping, the goal is to create a micro-trauma at the surface level of the body in order to bring fresh blood and nutrients into the tissues and to stimulate the immune response. It is most often used for tight, painful muscles or for the upper back achiness associated with colds or flus. Ask your practitioner if these are right for you.

Herbal Medicine
Traditional Remedies
Chinese herbal medicine is a highly refined system that has developed over thousands of years. When we prescribe an herbal formula, we are creating a combination of herbs carefully tailored to that particular patient at that particular time. As your symptoms begin to change, so does the herbal formula. Using herbal medicine along with acupuncture and other modalities can greatly enhance the efficacy of treatment, and promote long-term wellness.
Acupuncture
Needle Therapy
Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing practices in the world, with a tradition stretching back thousands of years. Rooted in Classical Chinese Medicine, it works by gently guiding the body back into balance, supporting natural healing processes, and restoring vitality. Modern research continues to confirm what history has long shown: acupuncture is a safe and effective form of care when practiced by a licensed professional. Treatments use fine, sterile, single-use needles, and are designed to be both gentle and deeply relaxing.

Moxibustion
Heat Therapy
Moxibustion- or "moxa," for short- is a very old traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of moxa—the herb artemisia (mugwort)—near the skin to gently stimulate acupuncture points and pathways. The soothing heat helps increase blood circulation, promote the smooth flow of Qi (proper functioning of tissues), and support the body’s natural healing processes. Moxibustion also initiates an immune response which can prevent illness, and is used for neurological disorders such as paralysis or nerve pain. It’s a safe, non-invasive therapy that can be a powerful complement to acupuncture treatments.
